Preseason All-State Team2010 Maryland State Association of Baseball Coaches Darrell Anderson St. Frances Academy Senior Among his accolades are 2007-2009 All-City, Baltimore Sun, 2007-2009 All-MIAA, 2009 Preseason players to watch by Collegiate Baseball Magazine, and 2009 All-Metro Honorable Mention, Digital Sports. Darrell has a total of 110 hits and holds the single season MD state record for doubles with 19. Hunter Bennett Colonel Richardson High School Senior A 1st Team All-Bayside Conference performer, Hunter also played for the Maryland Monarchs. Hunter was a member of the 2004 Preston Little League World Series Team. His brother, Tyler, is a catcher at the University of Maryland. Hunter has a 4.2 GPA and is #2 in his class. Troy Bennett Stephen Decatur High School Senior A 3 year varsity starter with
a .397 batting average, a 6-1-1 pitching record with a 1.77 ERA helping his team
finish 19-1 last year, and was the Pitcher of the Year for 2009 in the Bayside
Conference. Troy was also a member for the Maryland Futures Team that finished
5-0 in Chicago Illinois. This upcoming season will be Will’s third year of varsity baseball. Will was instrumental in Sherwood’s 2008 state championship season when as a freshman he pitched a complete game win in the quarter- finals and then turned around and recorded a save in the semi final game. His continued improvement and maturation has landed him a scholarship offer from the University of Maryland. Jared Christensen Hammond High School Senior 1st Team All-Howard County SS. Jared is 4 year varsity player and one of the Hammond Captains. He is the best pure athlete on the HHS baseball roster and could be an All-District player at any position. Jared is deciding between offers from Chesapeake College and CCBC - Catonsville. Travis Clark Hammond High School Senior 2009 Pre Seaon All-State, MD Futures game selection, Howard County Player of the Year, 1st team All-Met, Wash. Post and Digital Sports, 2nd Team All-Met Baltimore Sun, 1st Team All-Howard County, signed by University of South Carolina, Aiken. Tyler Clark Hammond High School Senior 2009 Pre Seaon All-State, 2 time 1st Team All-Howard County, Tyler is the leader of the HHS baseball team. He is a 2X captain and has committed to play for Elizabethtown College next season. Kyle Convissar Severna Park High School Senior Kyle is one of the top scholar athletes at Severna Park High School. He has committed to the University of Maryland to play Baseball. All County Sophomore & Junior Seasons, All Met Junior Season Tommy Cunningham Blake High School Senior A 2008 and 2009 All County performer, Tommy has been recruited by 10 Division I schools and has signed with the University of Indiana. He has totaled over 100 strikeouts in the past two seasons on the mound and has a career average of .418. Michael Draper Mount Saint Joseph High School Senior Michael is a three year player with speed, quickness, a good glove and can hit for power. Michael will be one of the premier players in the MIAA-A Conference this coming spring. Dylan Driscoll Urbana High School Senior 2009 2nd Team All-Conference, 2nd Team All-Frederick Gazette 2nd Team All-Frederick News-Post; 2008 Honorable Mention All-Conference, 2008 Honorable Mention All-Frederick News-Post; Attended Invitation-only Stanford All-Star Showcase, Signed with Amherst College. 4.5 GPA and 2290 SAT score. Zach Fitzpatrick McDonogh School Senior A member of Team Maryland and the Maryland Futures, Zach hit over .400 for McDonogh and earned 2nd Team All-MIAA. Zach is a 4-year starter on Varsity. One of the most respected players on and off the field, Zach has been voted to be a captain his junior and senior years. Zach also carries a 3.96 GPA. Dominic Fratantuono Cardinal Gibbons High School Senior A left-handed hitting outfielder and two-year starter for the Crusaders baseball team Dominic was selected to the Maryland Futures Team and will attend Towson University on a baseball scholarship. He helped Cardinal Gibbons to a 19-10 record last season when the Crusaders were MIAA runners-up. Brandon Glazer Clear Spring High School Senior Brandon is a senior who will be a 4 year, varsity starter for the Blazer baseball and basketball programs. Brandon is a career .440 hitter over his first 3 years on varsity baseball and has signed to play shortstop at the College of Charleston in South Carolina. Jordan Gowe St. Michaels High School Senior With career numbers of 73 hits, 19 doubles,10 homeruns and 68 RBI’s coming into his senior year, and a 1.92 pop time to second base, Jordan brings a nice resume’ to this year’s Preseason All-State team. He was also a Preseason selection last year and competed with Team Maryland in the Sunbelt Classic. Devan Hill St. Frances Academy Senior Devan has been a 3 year varsity pitcher and has been able to produce 14 career wins as a starter. In his freshman year he tied a state record with 20 strikeouts in one game and has 187 for his career. Devan was a member of the 2007 Under Armour Training Team and was 2008-2009 All-MIAA. Kevin Kean Old Mill High School Senior Kevin will be a three
year starter for the Old Mill Varsity Baseball Team. He hit .412 and .458 over
the last two years earning him first team All-County by the coaches, the
Capital-Gazette and the Baltimore Sun. He is interested in playing baseball
for York, Towson, UMBC, Stevenson or Salisbury. 2009 Baltimore Sun 2nd Team All-Met, 2009 Howard County 1st Team All-County, Marriotts Ridge HS MVP. Kevin raised his average 120 points last year and has scored 49 runs during his sophomore and junior years. Kevin has accepted a scholarship to play at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. AJ Lardo Loyola High School Junior 2010 Under Armour Preseason All-American (Nov 09), “Top Prospect" Baseball Factory National Tryout (Oct 09), Crab Claw Classic All-Star (Aug 09), "Best Contact Hitter" Selected to Baltimore Oriolelanders Fall Showcase Team (July 09). AJ is also being recruited by several ACC and SEC schools. Alex Lenovitz Calvert Hall High School Senior In 2009 Alex helped the Cardinals become the #1 ranked team in the area, the 30th ranked team in the country by Baseball America and, win its 5th straight MIAA Championship. Alex was selected to the Baltimore Sun All Baltimore County Baseball Team, the Digital Sports All Metro Team and was a Digital Sports Player of the week. Michael Marsh Chesapeake High School Senior Michael ended the regular season last year hitting .610 and without making an error in the field at SS. Nine of his 33 hits were for extra bases, including 6 HR’s. His smooth fielding and quick bat landed him on the Maryland Futures Team where he earned All-Tournament honors. Zach Nadolny Bel Air High School Senior Hit .412 last year for Bel Air HS, but his main body of work was on the mound where he went 6-1 with a 1.16 ERA. Threw nearly 6 K’s per walk allowed and was a player on the Maryland Futures team. Totaled 66 strikeouts in 42 innings. Adam Parks St. Michaels High School Junior Conference player of the year as a freshman. 1st all conference his 9th and 10th grade year. Best pitcher and offensive MVP for his high school team. Adam was 9-0 on the mound with an ERA of 0.98 with 73 strikeouts and only 18 walks. Adam was the winning pitcher in 2008 state championship game. Alex Ramsay Severna Park High School Senior A two time selection to the MSABC Preseason All-State Team, Alex is a strong armed catcher for Severna Park. Alex will enter his 4th year as the starting catcher for the Falcons and was a key member of their 2009 4A State Championship team. Committed to play baseball at University of Maryland, College Park. Nick Riley Gaithersburg High School Senior 2nd team All-Gazette pitcher and member of Team Maryland for the Sunbelt Classic and Maryland Futures team in Chicago. Nick currently holds a 7-2 career record with 86 strikeouts and only 20 walks for Gaithersburg and has committed to Mount Saint Mary’s College. Jason Seitler Chesapeake High School Senior Jason set a school record
for strikeouts in a season with 86, pitching against Anne Arundel County’s
toughest teams. He gave up only 47 hits in 60 innings, going 5-2-1 for the
year. He was the coaches MVP of the Maryland Futures Team in addition to being
named to the All-Tournament Team. Along with being a member of Team Maryland where he pitched a complete game win vs. Team Canada, Matt was league Co-MVP and 1st Team All-County. He enters his senior year with a 23-4 record on the mound while being the team’s top offensive contributor. Tyler Steele Reservoir High School Senior Team captain his junior year. Tyler was selected to the 2009 Maryland Futures Team. He hit over .500 in the Futures tournament with 3 homeruns in 4 games. Member of the 2009 National Champion Maryland Monarchs. Danny Wissmann Hammond High School Senior A Team MD and Maryland Futures selection, Danny was the Howard County Pitcher of the Year in 2009. Danny was a 1st team All-Howard County pick and has committed to pitch for the University of South Carolina Aiken next season. Spencer Wolfe Huntingtown High School Senior Spencer will be a four year starter at Huntingtown. During his career, Spencer has won regional, SMAC, and County Championships. During the 2009 season Spencer hit an astounding .535. Spencer is a tremendous worker on and off the field and will continue his baseball career at USC-Aiken in the fall.
